Mountain country close to Santo Domingo, where the local community has opened up waterfalls and turquoise pools that almost nobody sees.
There are more than six routes through the mountains of Los Cacaos, combined to suit the group: high waterfalls to abseil down, or walking up a river through a canyon.
The guides are from there, and they built the ecotourism project themselves. They run clean-up and conservation days through the year, and if the dates line up you can join one.
