Highlands
- Los Haitises National Park by boat: mangroves, limestone karst and Taíno cave art
- El Limón waterfall at first light, before anyone else arrives
- The seven hidden beaches walk in Las Galeras, returning by boat
- Playa Ermitaño, reachable only by sea
- Humpback whales in Samaná Bay, January to March
Day by day
Day 1
Arrival and transfer to Las Terrenas. Afternoon free.
Day 2
Coastal walk from Las Ballenas to Playa Bonita with a cultural guide: mangroves, a hidden beach and a proper explanation of the ecosystem.
Day 3
El Limón waterfall at dawn with the local community, breakfast prepared with what grows there.
Day 4
Los Haitises National Park and Cayo Levantado by boat.
Day 5
Las Galeras: the hidden beaches route on foot, returning along the coast by boat.
Day 6
El Valle: Playa Ermitaño by boat, cacao fields, and a waterfall only locals use.
Day 7
Departure.
